It is so important to me to be well-fueled before I train. When I’m not, I just cannot perform at the level I’m capable of. I get frustrated quickly and it’s not even worth it. I believe that eating enough–even if you don’t feel like it or want to–is an essential form of self-care.
I’ve become very diligent about getting the calories I need before training, and I love making smoothies to make sure I’m preparing for training and recovering from training well. Here’s one of my favorite recipes!
Green Protein Smoothie
8oz non-dairy milk (I make my own oat milk)

2 spoonfuls nut butter
1 handful spinach
1/2 cup ice
Optional add-ins: matcha powder, cacao nibs, strawberries, oats, shredded coconut
